'Batman and Harley Quinn': New Still Shows Two DC Characters in the Batmobile

The first promo image from the "Batman and Harley Quinn" animated film surfaced over the weekend, showing the two DC characters in the Batmobile. The image was discovered under the special features menu of the iTunes listing for another upcoming DC movie, "The Judas Contract."

Titled "Batman and Harley Quinn: A Bruce Timm Original," the upcoming movie was first announced July last year as part of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies slated for release in the coming years. The lineup includes "Justice League Dark" and "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract," the iTunes listing for which features the new still image from the "Batman and Harley Quinn" movie.

Since Harley Quinn was first introduced in "Batman: The Animated Series" in 1992, she has been a favorite female superhero in the DC Universe. Although she is often associated with Joker, she has proven through the years that she is also capable of standing on her own, even hopping over to "The Batman Adventures" and other DC titles, including "Suicide Squad."

Now, fans of Harley Quinn don't have to wait for long to see their favorite female superhero. In the new image for "Batman and Harley Quinn," Harley Quinn is shown doing her makeup in the back seat of the Batmobile with Nightwing and Batman, who is behind the wheel.

While the image does not reveal much aside from the Nightwing's inclusion in the cast, it confirms that the upcoming movie will adapt director Timm's animation style and tone, characterized by the original animated movie in the '90s where Harley Quinn debuted. Being Harley Quinn's co-creator, Timm will oversee the upcoming project to make sure that it returns to the "Timmverse" signature.

"Teen Titans: The Judas Contract" will be available for digital download starting April 4. Meanwhile, DC has yet to announce the release date for "Batman and Harley Quinn: A Bruce Timm Original."
