'Batman: Arkham Knight' New Anti-Gun Disruptor Details and Functionality Revealed by Rocksteady

To further amped up the excitement of fans eagerly waiting for the highly anticipated "Batman: Arkham Knight," Rocksteady Studio released yet another Spotlight series episode which now focused on the Dark Knight's new "anti-gun gun."

First featured in the "All Who Follow" gameplay trailer, the so-called "The Disruptor" is a gadget that gives Batman the ability "to control engagements like never before."

This new item from the Bat's huge array of high-tech weaponries lends the vigilante a "greater flexibility in any engagement before it even begins."

Its function is described in Arkham Knights Forums: "Before combat, the Disruptor can be used to jam the weapons of an opponent, buying Batman precious time to gain the advantage and land the first attack."

"In Predator scenarios, the Disruptor can be employed to target various enemy devices by rendering them inactive, or even turning them against their owners."

As further detailed by the website, the Disruptor carries three charges for every engagement. This requires players to "carefully select how best to use each charge in order to complement his plan of attack."

The device can be used to jam enemy weapons when they attempt to fire at Batman or destroy their guns totally by using two charges on the same weapon.

It can also be utilized to rig weapon crates to send shocks to enemies who will try to arm themselves as well as tag vehicles with tracking devices for those Batmobile pursuit moments.

Additionally, the Disruptor also comes with a long-range scope which allows the hero to "survey and set up control of the situation" from the safety of Gotham's tall buildings.

The gadget in question also comes with an extensive selection of upgrades. There's the "additional charge" which gives players more chances of controlling the situation.

A high level upgrade is also available for the Disruptor. This time it gives Batman the ability to "hack and disrupt the turret of the Arkham Knight's Drone Tanks."

"This creates the opportunity for Batman to draw the Drones attention on foot, only for its turret to backfire and self-destruct when it attempts to fire," the site said.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" is scheduled to be released worldwide on June 23, 2015.
