'Batman: Arkham Knight' News: PC Version for Download Only, DC Comics Tie-In to Reveal Arkham Knight Origins

After announcing a second delay for the release of "Batman: Arkham Knight," it looks like game developer Rocksteady is sticking to its guns and readying for the game's release on June 23, 2015. Prior to its release, some details about the upcoming game have been coming out to keep fans warm.

The first piece of news is how the PC version will be rolled out to those who will purchase the game for their PCs. According to a report in International Business Times, Warner Brothers Interactive will no longer produce physical discs for the game, thus it will be available via download only on June 23. This was confirmed by a game retailer who also got confirmation from the game's suppliers.

The second piece of news that will be of interest to fans of the game is about the origins story of the Arkham Knight, who is one of the enemies that gamers will battle in the game. Rocksteady had apparently created this character specifically for the game as Scarecrow's business partner.

DC Comics will be creating a six-part comic book mini-series called "Batman: Arkham Knight – Genesis" to be written by Peter Tomasi and illustrated by Alisson Borges, according to IGN. Tomasi previously wrote "Batman: Arkham Knight" comic book and is also the current writer of Batman and Robin comic series in DC.

All that is known about the new villain is that he wears a militarized Batman-looking suit, has the logo Arkham Asylum on his chest and hates Batman enough to want him dead. The upcoming comic series will focus on how he came to be. The series will reportedly come out on July 29.

The game is being released for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and PC on June 23. A DLC pack that focuses on one of the playable characters, Harley Quinn, will bring the player to Blüdhaven. Those who avail of this edition will reportedly get access to bonus content such as additional in-game missions and custom skins for Batman and the Batmobile, according to Superhero Hype.
