Batman: Arkham Knight PS4, Xbox One Release Date News: Who is the Main Villain?

Batman: Arkham Knight is the fourth installment of the main game Batman: Arkham series created by Rocksteady Studios for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is slated to be out for the next generation gaming consoles like Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this coming 2015, and speculation about the main villain is steadily increasing.

During the development stage of the game, Game Informer revealed that Rocksteady Studios have teamed up with DC Comics to make a more challenging enemy for the Bat in this forthcoming installment.

"We hadn't in the previous games introduced someone new to the universe. We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We're not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman," Rocksteady Studios co-founder Sefton Hill said.

This "formidable foe" will be of the same level with the Gotham Knight in terms of physical, power, tools, and combat skills. The character they are referring about will be none other than the titular villain, the Arkham Knight.

Arkham Knight could be a militarized version of the Batman, with a distinctive "A" logo in his chest to symbolize the Arkham Asylum facility.

"The Arkham Knight is so much more than just brawn and attitude," LazyGamer speculated. "He's going to be a psychological force as well, as he matches his intellect with the Batman, with his entire wardrobe being tailored to take advantage of any lingering mental issues that our dear hero might still be left with after the events of Arkham City."

A dark reflection of the Caped Crusader, Arkham Knight dons the same armor but with more lethal edge. The latter's utility belt is filled with arsenals intended for a "badder" approach. The pointed ears not only serve as a "psychological attack" on the hero but also act as a transmitting device for the villain to relay his commands to his ground units.

Other innovations include camouflage, clawed gauntlets, deflective chest plates, and a mask with super-computer display which are specifically "tailored" to overwhelm the Dark Knight.

Gameranx, on the other hand, added a bit of speculations of who the Arkham Knight could be. They said that it might actually be Azrael, the former Gotham police officer who later become "the Mysterious Watcher" in Batman: Arkham City.

Other details about the game are still kept in secret by Rocksteady and more of it will likely be released in a matter of few months.
