Batman: Arkham Knight Release Date, Rumors: Gameplay Trailers and Hands-on Previews Look Good

After the immense success of the release of previous Batman game franchises for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, Rocksteady's new offering Batman: Arkham Knight is now one of 2015's hotly-anticipated titles.

After the DC All Access Panel trailer show, it was revealed during the WonderCon that Arkham Knight "has now been pushed to a 2015 release date." Some sources indicated that it will probably hit the shelves early or middle of the year, but official announcements haven't been given with regards to the exact date yet.

As shown in the intense gameplay trailers, the Batman: Arkham Knight will feature a more detailed open world version of the fictional Gotham City. The main storyline follows one year after 2011's Arkham City and will see the return of supervillains Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Riddler who are bound to vanquished the Dark Knight.

Fans will also see the introduction of the newest enemy the Bat will face, a militarized, more brutal version of himself, the Arkham Knight. The character, as revealed, was specifically created for the new game by DC Comics and Rocksteady.

Meanwhile, hands-on previews and comments made by website Xbox Achievements proved that the latest Rocksteady game project to have gone above par the previous titles.

In their thorough proceedings, they commended the details put on the characters saying, "the visual fidelity is remarkable" and that the in-game world is "dense, detailed, and genuinely beautiful to behold."

They go on further saying that the "environmental take downs" and the combat aspect of the game are "supremely satisfying" making the Bat "feel like an unstoppable powerhouse as he mashes opponents."

However, the publication managed to point out the problems encountered when driving the Batmobile, particularly the difficulty of executing the controls.

Batman: Arkham Knight is slated for release on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2015.
