Batman Arkham Origins Reviews: 'Too Easy,' 'Not Innovative,' and 'Sub-Par'
Early reviews of Batman: Arkham Origins have been generally favorable, but many agree the game did not live up to the hype it was getting.
Most complaints for the game have to do with the lack of innovative ideas and styles of play brought into the game. Many of the elements were left unchanged or simply not worked on enough.
IGN states that although the game is very good, it is not "Batman Arkham" series good. The games predecessors, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, were superior and downright incredible games.

Huge Batman fan, and avid gamer, Mike Kumar, thought some of the gameplay did not make sense, but enjoys the game for what it is.
"Nothing new. Take that for what it is. Also, unlike the previous games where the civilian-less environments make sense, they failed to explain why the entire Gotham City is barren on Christmas aside from corrupt cops and goons," he said to CP.
Another, gamer, Chris Hines, enjoyed seeing Batman as he was learning the ropes as a crime fighter, and liked how that storyline played out in the game.
Gamer Frank Palermo told CP that the game was "sub-par compared to the other two."
"No innovation. Too easy. Boring world," he stated.
The game's creators, Warner Bros Games Montreal, released the final trailer for the game just two days before its release on October 25.
"This trailer showcases Black Mask, the feared gang leader and powerful mob boss in Gotham, now controlling the city's criminal underworld," the trailer's description read, as it was the first time the main villain had been thoroughly unveiled.
It continues, "Black Mask (AKA Roman Sionis) has but one goal this Christmas Eve night, to kill the Batman. With the aim to further tighten his grip on the city, this ruthless and sadistic crime lord will stop at nothing to destroy the vigilante. To get this done, Black Mask has put a bounty on Batman's head, and the eight assassins that are out to claim the prize will be some of the most dangerous and lethal killers the young crime-fighter has ever encountered."

Batman: Arkham Origins does not tell the typical Batman story, instead it bypasses the well know beginnings of the crime fighter and jumps to year two.
The game was released worldwide for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U.
