'Battlecry' Has New Take on Multiplayer Brawling

A relative newcomer in game development Battlecry Studios is bringing a new and unique multiplayer video game which called "Battlecry." The game is being published by Bethesda and was among the games announced during the recently concluded E3 2015.

According to a report in IGN, the new game is part of Bethesda's line up of new games under development this year. Unlike the other games, however, it does not seem to have the same impact just because of its generic title.

The game's developer described the game a little bit more, beyond its gameplay trailer and demo, and show how different it is from the other fighting or combat games.

"We're a team combat action game and what that means is we've gone to mix the single player brawler experience that a lot of people love -- that fun console experience -- and we've brought it into the multiplayer space," said design director Lucas Davis. "It's third person, your character can perform these cool over the top actions, it's a vibrant game in a beautiful world. We're trying to provide an experience that everyone from the hardcore FPS fans to the single player action fans can sit down and enjoy and find something familiar in it."

With all the other multiplayer fighting games, the game tries to introduce something unique.

"It's about finding little ways to bring that into the world but make sure we still have this unique kind of gameplay that you might have only seen in single player before that we have expressed in multiplayer. In a lot of ways it's become its own genre. It's become something that's fairly unique out there," Davis said.

According to IGN's wiki page about the game, it "amplifies team-based combat." Players get to choose the life of a warrior and do combat using high-tech gadgetry or sophisticated melee weapons. The game is set after a great world war at the start of the 20th century.

The game's release date has not been announced.
