An open beta for "Battlefield 1" was released by its publisher, EA, last August 31. It concluded on September 8, with around 13.2 million players participating. This figure breaks the record for the most number of beta players in any video game.

Even at its beta testing phase, the game delivered intense gaming experience to the players. "Battlefield 1" beta participants were said to have been able to earn 28.9 melee kills, along with 23.8 million road kills. The players also collectively mounted 62.2 million kills in the span of eight days for the testing.

The "Battlefield 1" beta also allowed the development team to actually get real and immediate reactions from its testers. These reactions are not limited to personal taste though, as the participants are also requested to submit major and minor technical bugs, glitches, and crashes so they can be patched by the developers before the game's official launch.

The game will officially arrive on October 21. Lars Gustavsson directs the video game, which will be available in different gaming platforms. This includes the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and Windows PC. Those who subscribe to Lucky EA and Origin Access will have access to the game earlier at October 13.

'Giant Shadow' DLC

Ahead of the release, game developer EA DICE has revealed that "Battlefield 1" will feature new downloadable content. The new "Giant Shadow" DLC will be a new map that comes out on December.

The main "Battlefield 1" gameplay is set during World War 1. There are currently six confirmed maps for the various quests, including The St. Quentin Scar, Sinai Desert, Amiens, Monte Grappa, and the just announced "Giant Shadow."

The "Battlefield 1" "Giant Shadow" DLC map will bring the players to the 1918 Battle of the Selle. In there, the British forces have already penetrated Hindenburg and are then threatening the railway center. Aside from the new map and adventure type, the "Giant Shadow" DLC will also feature a new armored trains which contains several deadly weapons. These weapons can then be used by the gamers to battle against the enemy forces.
