'Battlefield Hardline' Patch News, Features Update: Details Revealed

In the absence of a release date for the patch, game developer Visceral has instead revealed the details of the upcoming patch for "Battlefield Hardline." The game was recently released for the PC, the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 last March 17, 2015.

According to a report in GameSpot, developer Visceral took to a Battlefield community blog to share what it considered the top five changes that the update will bring to the game. Game designer Thaddeus Sasser only had this to say related to the release date: "We're still working hard every day to improve the gameplay experience to make Battlefield Hardline even more fun."

First on the list of changes that Sasser cited in the blog is Punkbuster fixes – which addresses the heavy CPU usage that was observed by players when it came to the game's anti-cheat system, the Punkbuster. Next on the list is the fixes for the Nvidia DirectX drivers, which has to do with common crash issues. In terms of Conquest time, the update is said to extend the length of Conquest matches by "increasing the number of tickets on both Large and Small."

TDM spawns will also be fixed by the update – Sasser said they've "adjusted spawn points and the spawn system for better TDM spawning." In terms of weapon balance, the update is said to address common complaints about this.

In related news, the report also said that Visceral is "planning to introduce a 'rent-a-server' program to all console versions, which will allow players to customize their multiplayer matches as well as invite friends to play.

"Battlefield Hardline" is a first-person shooter game that was developed by Visceral with Electronic Arts Digital Illusions CE and was published by Electronic Arts. While the first games in the "Battlefield" series focused on warfare and military operations, "Hardline" is the first to feature crime fighting and police operations. It also features the Frostbite 3 engine, like other games developed by DICE.
