'Battlefield Hardline' to release 'Robbery' DLC, to bring new maps, weapons and game mode

It's finally coming! Fans of the latest installment of the popular first-person shooter video game "Battlefield Hardline" can finally get their hands on the new downloadable content (DLC) "Robbery" which will be released on Sept. 16 already. But the gamer will need to be a "Battlefield" premium member in order to avail the update on the scheduled date as it will not be available for regular gamers until further notice. Tech News Today noted that it will be available for everyone in the upcoming months.

Nevertheless, all gamers can expect the expansion pack to be worth the wait and purchase as Visceral Games and Electronic Arts promise something exciting and twice the fun. It will come along with new features including new maps, weapons, game modes, vehicles and so much more. Game Spot detailed that the maps confirmed include The Docks, Museum, Break Pointe, which is related to Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 film "Point Break," and Precinct 7, which is said to be a mirror to the classic cops vs. robbers film "Assault on Precinct 13."

Attack of the Fanboy also noted that the new game mode that will be included in the expansion will be called the 5v5 Squad Heist wherein players are offered a mixture of "combat and classic heist gameplay." It is described as a multi-stage mode necessitating one team to carry out an intricate bank robbery while another team will act as the police who will try to stop the robbery.

Other new additions include a scout police helicopter and a pickup truck. A throwing knife is added into the weapon cache while a vehicle healing and gas launcher joins the gadgets drawer. The "Robbery" DLC expansion is the game's second pack and through this update, players will be given a cops & robbers style experience.

Battlefield Hardline is available now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
