'Bayonetta 3' Release Date News, Update: New Leak Reveals Co-Op for Switch Exclusive

"Bayonetta 3" is getting a co-op component, if the latest reports are anything to go by.

A Reddit user pointed his fellow "Bayonetta" fans to the official page of the upcoming game in which there was a tag that reveals it will support more than one player.

Another Redditor mentioned that a now-deleted blog post by Platinum Games, the developer of the series, also makes mention of a local multiplayer for Tag Climax mode for "Bayonetta 2," which was released for the Nintendo Switch.

While nothing is confirmed yet, players are excited about the idea of multiplayer in "Bayonetta 3" although many of them believe that it could just end up being Tag Climax.

Players of the series would know that Tag Climax is a strictly online mode in which players join forces (they can pick a friend or be matched up with a fellow player or a computer-controlled partner) to fend off angelic and demon hordes. It features levels from the single-player campaign.

Another user said that a multiplayer component for "Bayonetta 3" will make better use of the split joy controllers, which serve as some of the biggest selling points of the Nintendo Switch.

For now, however, nothing has been confirmed yet. Platinum Games has revealed nothing about the title except that it will be exclusive to the ninth-generation console.

While waiting for official details, fans are picking apart the "Bayonetta 3" announcement trailer released at The Game Awards (TGA) for any hints about the story.

In an in-depth analysis of one Redditor, he explains that the tables have turned in "Bayonetta 3" and that the titular witch is now being hunted instead of being the hunter and that she will find herself in a battle she cannot win.

Another user says that "Bayonetta 3" will be set during the world's end and will see the character without her demonic abilities.
