'Beauty and the Beast' Season 3 Spoilers, Rumors: 'Degrassi' Star Charlotte Arnold to Appear in Premiere

The CW's hit police procedural TV series "Beauty and the Beast," was renewed for a third season, and "Degrassi: The Next Generation" star Charlotte Arnold joining the crew when the show returns for its next chapter.

According to The Wrap, the 25-year-old actress will be playing a character named Marissa who is "a distraught Midwestern beauty who finds herself in desperate need of help after her stockbrocker husband begins displaying strange, violent behavior."

In addition for her leading roles in Degrassi as Holly J. Sinclair, the Canadian actor also appeared on films like "Naturally, Sadie" as Sadie Hawthorne and also on "The Safety of Objects" as Sally Christianson.

She has won several accolades including a Gemini Award for her best performance in a children's or youth oriented program or series.

Enstarz further added that show director Stuart Gillard, recently announced that filming for the upcoming third season of "Beauty and the Beast" already began on Aug. 28.

The show stars Kristin Kreuk, who plays NYPD homicide detective Catherine "Cat" Chandler, and Jay Ryan as Vincent Keller, a former test subject of a supersoldier program whom Cat has a relationship with.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, show runner Brad Kern dished out some teasers for what to expect in the third season.

"Now that we have the loyal audience, the goal is to make it more Cat-Vincent centric," Kern said. "We'll continue to build the mythology. Everything else will service and work around that love."

Cast member Austin Basis, who plays J.T. Forbes, further told Buddy TV that fans will see that "the conspiracy is growing" when "Beauty and the Beast" returns.

"I think from what I know and where it's going, there's going to be a lot of forces and conspiracies that are leading to bigger things," Basis said. "Vincent and Catherine and JT and Tess by virtue of their friendship are going to have to team up and face these things and deal with their domestic partnerships and learn how to live that way."
