'Beauty and the Beast' Spoilers and Release Date: New Photos Revealed; See Cogsworth, Lumiere and the Beast

Since Maleficent, there's been a lot of live action adaptations of favorite Disney tales such as "Cinderella" and "The Jungle Book". It was only a matter of time before the "tale as old as time" took on the live action path as well, and soon enough, everyone got their wish: "Beauty and the Beast", starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince.

And now, months after the release of its first teaser trailer, co-producer Jack Morrissey treated us to a slew of photos of concept art, photo stills and behind-the-scenes B-roll footage!

Lumiere and Cogsworth

In a Facebook post, Morrissey showed us the concept art for the French candelabra Lumiere and the grandfather clock Cogsworth. Ewan McGregor (Moulin Rouge) and Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings) will be voicing the characters, respectively. To be honest, they look like they're just about to break out into a song: Be our guest, be our guest...

The designs look meticulous and vintage-inspired, though the concept is closely hewed to the original. According to Morrissey, the designs are near-final. The images will also be part of a special sneak peek to be released in time with the 25th Anniversary Edition of the 1991 Disney animated feature.

Gaston and LeFou

Meanwhile, in a B-roll still, we see Gaston and LeFou in their tavern song, "Gaston" (As if we needed any more proof that Gaston was incredibly narcissistic, he goes ahead and names a song after himself). Luke Evans (The Hobbit) will be playing the vaunted antagonist, while Josh Gad (Frozen) will be his bumbling sidekick. Gosh it disturbs me to see you, Gaston, looking so down in the dumps...

Dan Stevens

Meanwhile, another B-still revealed Dan Stevens in his long, blonde locks as Prince Adam. We've yet to see him in the Beast form, though!

What to expect

In case you've been living under a rock and haven't had the slightest clue what the film is about, here's a quick refresher: An adaptation of the 1756 Jeanne Marie Leprince de Beaumont tale, the story follows a prince who was cursed by an enchantress to become a beast, and will remain so until he finds true love. The catch: He must do so before the last petal of a magical rose wilts away.

Enter Belle, a young village girl who's quite out of place in her town with her eccentric inventor father and her literate upbringing. She'll eventually cross paths with the Beast and emerge as his true love.

Excited for the live action adaptation? "Beauty and the Beast" will hit theaters on March 17 next year.
