'Better Call Saul' Season 3 Spoilers: Brother's Betrayal Prompts Jimmy to Evolve to Saul; Fring is Back but Won't be Seen Much Says EP

Because of Fring's preferance in staying out of the radar, viewers will not really see much of him in the new season.

The two things that are keeping fans excited for "Better Call Saul" Season 3 would be Jimmy McGill finally evolving to Saul Goodman and Gus Fring's much talked-about appearance in the series. The last was famously teased during last season's anagram of the first letters of episode titles spelling "Frings Back".

Outsmarted and betrayed

The previous season of "Better Call Saul" ended with Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) getting outsmarted and betrayed by his brother Chuck (Michael McKean). Jimmy forged documents that Chuck prepared for the Mesa Verde account.

Jimmy actually did it out of love for his brother and almost got away with it. However, in the end, Jimmy paid a big price for it. Chuck thought he was going crazy and suffered another mental breakdown not aware that Jimmy did a good job in doctoring the documents behind his back.

Prompted to evolve to Saul

Despite their differing morals, Jimmy loves his brother and did not want him committed to a mental institution. He confessed to committing the crime in order to make Chuck feel better. By the end of the season finale of "Better Call Saul", Chuck successfully got Jimmy's confession on tape.

Speculations are rising that this event from the previous season will prompt Jimmy in "Better Call Saul" Season 3 to turn into the dark side and evolve into Saul Goodman, the underground lawyer for drug dealers.

Some Fring spoilers

Meanwhile, Bob Odinkirk has confirmed Gus Fring's (Giancarlo Esposito) appearance in "Better Call Saul" Season 3. However, EPs Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould teased that despite the hype, viewers will not really see much of the former "Breaking Bad" villain in the prequel spinoff series. This is because of Fring's style of operating his drug business under the radar.

The showrunners further revealed that Fring won't be seen right away in "Better Call Saul" Season 3. From what is known of the character from "Breaking Bad", he worked very indirectly and is not a person who others have an easy access to. He was like the man behind the curtain so it will be highly doubtful that viewers will suddenly be seeing a lot of the character in his appearance in the show.

Besides the anagram, many fans suspect that Fring's appearance in "Better Call Saul" may have something to do with the note left for Mike in his car last season when he planned on assassinating Hector. Whoever left the note could have easily had Mike killed but he instead chose to leave a note. Fans say that Fring could be that person.

Saul not in Saul mode

Meanwhile, Bob Odenkirk revealed in an interview what he wants to happen to his character in "Better Call Saul" Season 3. He would love Jimmy to be spending more time with Mike (Jonathan Banks). Odenkirk says that he gets a great burst of energy when working with Banks and it is always fun when they do.

Odenkirk also would love to see Saul during the "Breaking Bad" years but out of his office and not in his Saul mode in "Better Call Saul" Season 3. He said he is curious to see who that person really is.
