In a new presidential campaign video for Barack Obama, Beyonce Knowles has displayed her support for not only the current President, but for his wife, Michelle Obama.
Earlier this year, the Grammy Award-winning singer hand wrote a letter to the First Lady thanking her for acting as a positive role model.
"Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that you do for us- I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you, to look up to," wrote Knowles, citing her infant daughter Blue Ivy whom she welcomed in January.
In the new official video for President Obama, the "Love On Top" singer explained why she published the thank you letter online.
"I wrote a letter to the First Lady because I wanted her to know what I am very grateful for everything she's doing for our country, and also for women around the world," said the 30-year-old singer in the video, released Sunday.
The singer and actress went on to read the entire letter, which begins as follows: "Michelle is the ultimate example of a truly strong Africa-American woman. She is a caring mother, she's a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!"
"No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope- she's humble, loving, and sincere," continued Knowles. "She builds and nurtures her family, while also looking out for so many million in so many ways," before signing off with, "Love, Beyonce."
Knowles, who has worked on the First Lady's Let's Move campaign- designed to help America's youth lead healthier lives- went on to praise Michelle Obama in her letter.
"I'm so in awe of Michelle Obama," added the singer in the video. "Every time I see her she inspires me, she empowers me, she encourages me to live a healthy lifestyle, to support our veterans."
