While more users compared Beyonce's haircut to comedian Ellen DeGeneres and news anchor Anderson Cooper, others defended the singer's right to change her look.

"Beyonce got a haircut and now everyone (is) tweeting about it," another person tweeted. "Why do you care is her life."

Another individual followed the same sentiments.

Beyonce previously let it be known that she feels beauty is about more than appearance.

The singer has been vocal about the lessons she is teaching her 1-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter and said the most important one will be about outward appearance.

"My biggest thing is to teach [Blue] not to focus on the aesthetic," Beyonce previously told People magazine, the publication that named her the most beautiful woman in 2011. "It's really about who you are, and the human being, that makes you beautiful."

The Grammy Award-winning singer told the magazine that giving birth made her feel truly beautiful.

"I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth," Knowles told People. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth."
