Beyonce Talks Admiration for Madonna, Creating Content for Blue Ivy

Beyonce Knowles has made it clear that she feels women should have more opportunities in the workforce and feels that singer Madonna serves as a great example for females everywhere.

Beyonce, 31-year-old singer, recently opened up to The Gentlewoman publication about her feelings concerning Madonna.

"I think about Madonna and how she took all of the great things she achieved and started the label and developed other artists," Beyonce told The Gentlewoman recently. "But there are not enough of those women."

The singer elaborated on her comments by telling The Gentlewoman that more men have taken their potential for success in the music business to different levels than women.

"You see Puffy and you see my husband and you see these male artists that have become moguls, and the female artists might become legends, but there's not enough of us that become moguls," Knowles told the publication. "And I think there are many ways to get there."

The singer echoed these sentiments when she appeared on the cover of GQ magazine earlier this year.

"Equality is a myth, and for some reason everyone accepts that women don't make as much money as men do," she told GQ. "I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let's face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what's sexy. And men define what's feminine. It's ridiculous."

Knowles, who recently release her HBO documentary "Life is But a Dream," said she is being mindful about the content that she creates for the sake of her growing 1-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

"Now I'm controlling my content, controlling my brand and archiving it for my daughter and making sure she has it and she respects it," the singer told The Gentlewoman.
