Beyonce to Perform During Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show

Beyonce Knowles is slated to perform during the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013 in New Orleans, according to a report.

The Grammy award-winning singer will reportedly perform during the major sporting event for the first time since 2004, as she previously belted out the national anthem before the Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston. The report has not been confirmed, although the Associated Press claims that a formal announcement will be made on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old has kept her public performances to a minimum since giving birth to her and husband Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter's first child, Blue Ivy, in January.

The singer stunned fans when she took to the stage just four months after Blue Ivy's birth to perform in four sold out shows at The Revel in Atlantic City, N.J.

"It is exciting. I'm feeling a little nervous. I'm enjoying being a mother so it's like going back to my old job and it's a little strange but it's important that you don't lose yourself … that you have your own passions and I'm back to work. I'm back to business," Beyonce revealed in a candid video.

"What I am trying to say with this show is 'Yes, I had a baby' and it just made me even more grounded and more like you," she added.

More recently, Beyonce stunned unsuspecting concertgoers at Jay-Z's final show in Brooklyn when she joined him on stage to perform.

Beyonce, dressed in head-to-toe leather including a leather Nets cap to honor her husband's basketball team, hit the stage with ferocious energy. She performed her smash hits "Diva" and "Crazy In Love," which featured Jay-Z himself.

The "Countdown" singer also added her superb vocals to his popular song "Forever Young."

"What's up Brooklyn!" Beyonce shouted at the frenzied audience in between sets. "I have to say I'm so proud to be here. I have to say a happy birthday to a special friend of mine, Gwen I love you. Can I do one more for y'all?"
