Bianca Ryan Making Film Debut in 'We Be Kings'

Bianca Ryan, the first ever winner of "America's Got Talent," is making her film debut in a spiritual-based movie titled "We Be Kings," in which she will star alongside Magic Slim, the legendary Chicago bluesman.

Ryan rose to fame in 2006 at only 11 years old, when her singing performances on "America's Got Talent" brought her widespread acclaim, including the approval of host Simon Cowell who said the young girl was one of the best singers he has ever heard. Since her triumph on the show, Ryan has recorded several singles and released a self-titled album that reached number 57 on the U.S. Billboard 200 list.

Like many teen stars her age, Ryan, who is now 17, is also eager to test her talents in acting, and has joined the "We Be Kings" feature production, which tells the story of two down and out teen musicians guided by an angel to an ancient bluesman half frozen in a blizzard. The angel is the bluesman's deceased wife, and she guides this unlikely trio down Route 61 toward a musical destiny they could only have imagined, a press release stated.

The film will reportedly feature a host of new songs from Ryan, who writes her own material and focuses on spiritual themes.

Magic Slim (born Morris Holt) is a 74-year-old musician who lost a finger in a Mississippi delta cotton gin when he was 13 years old and promptly quit the piano and took up the guitar. He is now widely recognized as one of the last of the great Chicago bluesmen alongside Buddy Guy and B.B. King.

Twelve-year old guitarist and singer Quinn Sullivan, who is touring the country and opening for Buddy Guy and has been compared to legends such as Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn, will also be a big-name young star starring in the movie.

"We Be Kings," will be financed by fundraiser website Kickstarter.com, which allows fans the option to back the film for various reward levels. Fans of specific projects can support films, books, recording sessions and products for small donations.
