'Biggest Loser' Adrian Dortch Leaves in Angry, Dramatic Exit

NBC's Tuesday airing of "The Biggest Loser," fueled by tension and drama, saw negative comments on behalf of contestant Adrian Dortch that led to his elimination and an awkward, angry exit.

The tension began when members of Adrian's Red Team sought to console fellow contestant Cassandra, whose grandmother Nancy Rajala was eliminated last week.

While others offered Cassandra words of encouragement, Adrian, a music producer, warned Cassandra that she should be careful who she trusts. Naturally, this angered Cassandra's teammates, who heard Adrian's comments and assumed he was referring to them.

Adrian also butted heads with contestant Conda Britt from Rockford, Mich., who has been a main source of attention on the show due to her whiney disposition.

Dortch was also accused of "game-playing," as he only lost two pounds last week and nine pounds this week. Dortch's teammates suggested that the 34-year-old did not try hard last week because he had immunity, and therefore was not benefiting the team.

Eventually, Dortch's negative attitude led his fellow Red Team contestants to eliminate him at the end of the show.

"For me, the struggle of being on the ranch was uncomfortable. I thought going onto the ranch, that I would have this miraculous weight-loss in the time of being there, and I didn't know that I would come home so soon," Adrian said after being eliminated by his own team at the end of week six's episode.

"The excuse for the last week that I was there was 'I can't lose weight on my own,' and it was ironic because I have lost weight on my own."

Dortch's exit proved dramatic. Obviously hurt over being eliminated, Dortch accused his teammates of being unsupportive and mean during his short stay on the ranch. While he was leaving, fellow contestant Mark, a 43-year-old youth pastor, asked to speak with Dortch. However, Dortch refused as he stormed out of the voting room.

Although Adrian left, his sister Daphne remains on the Black Team. Previews for next week's episode show Conda and Daphne having sassy verbal altercations within the first five minutes of the show.

"They got what they wanted. They sent my brother home," Daphne tells the cameras in the beginning of the preview.

'The Biggest Loser' features 20 overweight contestants who undergo multiple tasks to lose weight. The contestant who loses the most weight at the end of the season wins a cash prize of $250,000.
