'Black Panther' Spoilers: Villain to Expose 'Hypocrisy' Of Wakanda

Revenge seems to be the main motivation of King T'Challa's onscreen foe in the upcoming "Black Panther" movie. Andy Serkis, who plays the villainous weapons dealer Ulysses Klaue, says that "personal" vendetta against the Wakandan king is what drives his agenda in the film.

In an interview with IGN, Serkis says that Klaue is furious about what happened in the film so he's made it personal with Chadwick Boseman's character T'Challa. And he's not going to stop with just the king because he plans to bring down the nation of Wakanda itself which for years has kept its technology hidden from the rest of the world.

Klaue, who has since lost an arm in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," is looking to use "the Zemo approach" by causing strife in Wakanda as opposed to going mano y mano with T'Challa. According to Serkis, he is going to expose what he thinks is the hypocrisy of Wakanda in the "Black Panther." Being the only person who witnessed Wakanda's prosperity, Klaue wants to expose all that to the world.

"He believes them to be a hypocritical country," Serkis said. "They're playing this kind of 'we're a third world country' card and he knows what's underlying that so he's trying to expose that."

But while vengeance is the top priority for Klaue, his plans also have a commercial aspect. Serkis adds with a laugh that Klaue's addiction to vibranium is also what drives him referencing the nearly indestructible metal native to Wakanda.

Vibranium might also be the reason why Klaue has such a hatred for T'Challa as it was Ultron's actions using the metal that caused Wakanda to take a more active role in the world. Among those include taking down the person who supplied Ultron with stolen Wakandan vibranium in the first place: Klaue.

"Black Panther" is set to be released on Feb. 16, 2018.
