BlackBerry Classic Release Date, News: QWERTY Phone to Arrive With Another Skin Variant

From what the news suggests, it seems like BlackBerry Limited is more than ready to ship their most-talked about smartphone yet, the BlackBerry Classic reiteration. As reported, the upcoming device has already been made available for pre-order in the U.S. and Canada region starting last month.

Rumors now indicate that the BlackBerry Classic will also be arriving in white as a press image, which made its rounds on the tech news earlier this week, features the smartphone with a new color scheme.

N4BB.com, a website dedicated to anything about BlackBerry news, reviews, FAQs, and leaks, revealed in one of their posts a picture of the forthcoming handset with two color versions: a black and a white one.

PhoneArena.com who picked up the story, however noted that it wasn't yet determined if the white variant would come out at the same time with the classic model.

The site speculated that in any case, the null-colored device will come along with the same price as to that of the black one at $449 (unlocked).

As for the specs, the new BlackBerry Classic features a square 3.5-inch 720 x 720 pixel screen, integrated with its all-time favorite physical QWERTY keys for its keyboard.

The smartphone is also said to pack the same specs as to that of the BlackBerry Q10 which has a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 2GB or RAM, and a 16 GB worth of expandable internal memory.

It has an 8MP rear camera coupled with a 2MP front-facing snapper. It runs on the latest BlackBerry OS and is powered with a 2515 mAh battery.

BlackBerry Classic will be hitting the shelves next week, starting Dec. 17.
