BlackBerry Z10 Reveals to Others When User is Watching Porn on Device

The BlackBerry Z10 is being touted as a potentially precious accountability tool for Christians in the fight against pornography.

The handset, recently released by the company formerly known as RIM, apparently shares with friends and family what a user is watching on the internet. It has the ability to reveal the user's actions when viewing certain content online, including pornography.

An earlier report on the BlackBerry Z10 revealed that its deeper integration with BlackBerry Messenger allows a user's contacts to see what songs and videos they are playing.

A screenshot found on Crackberry forum displayed this. The picture blocked out the user's name, but revealed that they were listening to some of the pornography sites they were viewing.

In order to avoid privacy violation, users of the smartphone can simply turn the "show what I'm listening to" feature off. Users would also need to turn their "update your status" feature on, as it is off by default, in order for this to occur.

The media player streams audio, video, and flash from the browser so whatever is played on the platform is shared with BBM contacts.

The BlackBerry Z10 launched earlier this year and introduced the company's new BlackBerry Z10 operating system. BlackBerry will also release the new Q10 model in the coming weeks that features a full physical QWERTY keyboard. The device has already received somewhat positive reviews and will appease those hardcore BlackBerry fans still faithfully wielding their Bolds and Curves.

This same issue will also come up with the Q10 since it uses the same operating system as the Z10.

RIM also announced its name change to BlackBerry during the unveiling of the new smartphones.
