"I listen to it year-round. I had always wanted to do a Christmas album, so getting to do 'Cheers, It's Christmas' was exciting for me," Shelton added.

The "New Kid In Town" music video depicts the biblical Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and Mary's birthing of the baby Jesus.

Shelton and former "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson sing "New Kid In Town" as a duet, although also in circulation is a video featuring the solo version of Shelton's vocals.

The music video, which is 4:47 long, includes scenes from The History Channel's "The Bible" miniseries, starring "Touched By An Angel's" Roma Downey and consisting of ten episodes slated to premiere March 3.

According to The Boot, "The Bible" miniseries will depict stories ranging from the bible's Genesis to Revelation chapters, and will include the story of Noah's ark as well as Jesus' crucifixion.

This isn't the first time Shelton, 36, has chosen a religious theme for his music.

The country music star previously composed and sang "God Gave Me You" in 2011.

Shelton, who is married to fellow country music star Miranda Lambert, is currently one of the team leaders on NBC's singing competition show "The Voice."

Additionally, the country music star swept the 2012 Country Music Awards, winning "Song of the Year," 'Entertainer of the Year," "Male Vocalist of the Year," and "Single of the Year."
