Blake Shelton Talks Duet with Girlfriend Gwen Stefani

Love is definitely in the air for Blake Shelton and his girlfriend Gwen Stefani as the country crooner recently talked about their upcoming duet titled "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," which will be featured in his upcoming album.

According to People, Shelton shared how the song came to life at the end of October last year - at the same time when rumors were hot about their new-found love. Speaking at a "Voice" event on Thursday, the singer told the outlet about the song: "I love this song! This song's important to us and the fact that we wrote it together is so important to both of us."

It is worth noting that the couple are engulfed in two different music genres but it appears that no borders can stop the duo from creating music that speaks about their story that started last year, after they both went through a split.

Shelton revealed that despite the differences in their music worlds, they actually share the same song types and they share similar music that they have been listening to in their younger years.

Aside from sharing the experience of writing a song with his beau, Shelton went on to gush about who he refers to as "the coolest girl in the world." The "Voice" judge said, "Wow, to me she's Gwen, but she's Gwen Stefani...it's like a self check every now and then."

Entertainment Tonight adds that Shelton appears to be happy with how the collaboration turned out. "I really think that it's as good of a song as I've ever written in my life," he said during the West Hollywood, California event.

The couple started dating last year, after they were both involved in highly-publicized divorces and though there were some negative rumors that emerged back then, they have slowly become social media's cutest pair.

According to The Rolling Stone, Shelton and Stefani's duet will be released as part of "If I'm Honest," the latest album that Shelton will launch in May 20. There are no other details about what the song is all about but the songwriter has said previously that the album will allow the public to get a closer look at his life in its most emotional state.
