The "Overwatch" World Cup tournament will start after players from all over the world choose the best team to represent their country, Express reported. Once Blizzard has chosen the teams from the participating countries, the chosen "Overwatch" teams will compete in the games next month in September to qualify for the finals that will happen at BlizzCon 2016 in November.

According to Blizzard, starting Aug. 11, fans and players may start choosing players and teams that may have a fighting chance against other "Overwatch" teams from other countries. Single elimination will start by September and will have a total of sixteen teams.

Sixty countries from all over the world across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific may join the matches. Countries in the list include the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, Australia and more. By the end of the "Overwatch" eliminations, the top six from Europe, top six from Asia Pacific and top four from the Americas will move on to the finals at BlizzCon 2016.

'Overwatch' World Cup Tournament Qualifications, Other Countries

Blizzard stated in their website that "Overwatch" World Cup tournament qualifications include in-game performance, skill, country ranking and other criteria. Other countries that aren't included in the list may have a chance in other "Overwatch" events.

'Overwatch' World Cup Tournament Prizes

There will be no prize pool for the "Overwatch" World Cup in any of its legs including the finals at BlizzCon 2016, ESPN noted. The top 16, however, will be given the chance to go to Blizzard's event for free and compete there. There will be an appearance bonus as well. Blizzard will be posting more detailed information regarding the "Overwatch" World Cup rules and regulations soon.
