'Blue Bloods' Premiere Spoilers, CBS Start Time: Detective Baez Injured in the Upcoming Premiere

Hit police procedural drama series "Blue Bloods" is slated to return for its fifth season with its premiere episode entitled "Partners" this coming Friday, Sept. 26, at 10 p.m. on CBS.

"As Danny and Baez escort confiscated drugs to a remote location for incineration, their convoy is attacked and Baez is seriously injured, leaving Danny to track down the drug cartel responsible. Meanwhile, Frank must carefully navigate personal and political waters when an exemplary lieutenant's actions cause controversy for the NYPD," the synopsis reads.

The season will once again feature the multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Headed by police commissioner and Reagan brood Francis "Frank" Reagan (Tom Selleck) who runs his family just as he manages his police department.

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Frank's "source of pride and concern," is a seasoned detective and Gulf War II veteran. Together with a detective partner Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), they would often resort on using "dubious tactics" to solve cases.

Other characters who are also set to appear in the upcoming season incude Erin Reagan-Boyle (Bridget Moynahan) Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito), Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson), Nicole Boyle (Sami Gayle) and Anthony Renzulli (Nicholas Turturro).

The Futon Critic also revealed other names included in the premiere's guest cast.

Kirk Acevedo will play Javi Baez, Charles Borland ais Lt. James McCarthy, Daniel Sauli is Agent Rick Siblano, and Michael Buscemi as Owen Stapleton.

Also mentioned are Peter Conboy as another NYPD officer, Alex Ziwak as an undercover detective, Niah Fleiss as Paul, Chris Skeries to play an office worker, and Tanya Perez as Agent Martinez.

Episode 2 entitled "Forgive and Forget" will follow to air Friday next week, Oct. 3 on same time slot.
