'Borderlands 3' News: 'Battleborn's' Creative Director Now Expected To Be Working on the Sequel

Majority of the developers at Gearbox Software expected to be focused on 'Borderlands 3'

"Borderlands 3" has not been officially announced yet, but that does not mean that the eagerly anticipated sequel is lacking in attention from its developers.

If anything, it even seems like the folks over at Gearbox Software have truly made this upcoming game their priority.

The sequel's development team may have even gotten a boost recently.

Spotted by DualShockers, "Battleborn's" creative director Randy Varnell took to Gearbox's forums to share a little more about what was next for him.

After laying out what was in store for "Battleborn" in the months ahead, Varnell then confirmed that his time working on the game was about to end. He then shared that he will have a "significant role" to play in the development of Gearbox's "highly anticipated but unannounced game."

It is widely believed that the game Varnell referenced in his post is none other than "Borderlands 3."

Just recently, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford teased that the majority of the people at Gearbox Software have already turned their attention to the aforementioned game.

It certainly looks like work on the sought after sequel is now shifting to another gear, but even with more people onboard, fans probably should not count on seeing this game hit shelves within the next few months.

During a recent interview with IGN, Pitchford shared that he and the other developers want to take a significant step forward with the sequel, and that may impact how soon it is made available since "that's not something you can just cook up overnight."

Pitchford is also looking to avoid setting expectations for the sequel at this point in time.

While it may still take quite some time before fans finally get the sequel they have been seeking, it appears that it is now deep in development.

"Borderlands 3" itself may not be coming out anytime soon, but more concrete details about it could trickle out more frequently over the coming months.
