'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' News: Anime Gets April Premiere Date; Plot and Character Details Revealed

New visuals for the new anime, "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations," have found their way online, revealing exciting details about the next "Naruto" small screen project.

The first visual picked up by Saiyan Island revealed that the anime will premiere on Wednesday, April 5. This means that fans can catch Boruto in his own adventures a day before they watch that of his father, Naruto.

As fans know, the "Naruto Shippuden" anime, which has been on the small screen for a decade now, airs every Thursday. That being said, fans will be treated with two "Naruto" animes every week.

The same teaser image shows Boruto and his friends, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, Inojin Yamanaka, Chocho Akimichi and Shikadai Nara.

In another scan, this time from Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations" director Hiroyuki Yamashita talked a bit about the anime.

"Right now we are preparing this spring's broadcast. The more we go on meetings, the more I draw and write and the more I feel it's going to be hard to give Boruto his own identity," he said as translated by Saiyan Island.

"There are two types of viewers: the people who expect great things from Boruto and the ones who are new to the series. If they both feel they want to watch him, that would make me happy," he went on to say.

"Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations" chief director Noriyuki Abe also commented on the anime and how it has been "very difficult" but all the more worth it having "inherited" the "souls" of the characters in "Naruto" while ushering a new era with Boruto's story.

"I'm getting numb. The entire staff is mobilized to make this interesting and fun. You can expect great things. I will never betray my fellow Naruto fans, of course," he said.

The third visual simply showed a gritty-looking Boruto. It is actually the cover of chapter 10 of the "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" manga designed to promote the anime's premiere.
