'Bourne 5' Cast News, Update: Julia Stiles to Reprise Role as CIA-Operative Nicky Parsons, Viggo Mortensen and Alicia Vikander in Talks

Not much has been known about the upcoming installment to the hit action movie franchise "Bourne." Nonetheless, "Bourne 5," as what it is being referred to for a while by the press, will see the return of Matt Damon's amnesiac agent Jason Bourne.

Returning along with Damon is Julia Stiles, who, according to a report from SlashFilm.com, will be reprising her role as Nicky Parsons. Over the course of the trilogy, Nicky is hinted to have had some romantic feelings for Bourne. She later abandons her station at Treadestone and the CIA to work for him.

Stiles is the second actor confirmed to have already closed the deal.

A report from The Wrap meanwhile points out to two other actors being eyed for the forthcoming title.

"The Lord of the Rings" actor Viggo Mortensen is said to be in talks to play a villain while "Ex Machina" star Alicia Vikander is also being pursued to play the part of a potential female lead. Neither of the two named actors is confirmed for their purported involvement.

Previous reports, on the other hand, have already stated that "Bourne" helmer Paul Greengrass will be directing from the script he co-wrote with scribe Christopher Rouse. Along with Damon, Frank Marshall, Jeffry Weiner, and Greg Goodman will be co-producing the movie.

Rumors said that "Bourne 5" is supposed to be a direct sequel to the Jeremy Renner-led "Legacy." Other reports point out that Renner's Aaron Cross will appear, in some capacity, to the Damon's storyline. Both of which speculations are still far from being confirmed.

"Bourne 5" is slated to hit the cinemas July 29, 2016.
