Boxing News 2016: Terence Crawford Surrenders to Police After Car Shop Incident; Andre Ward Says He Is 'Not a Fan' of Gennady Golovkin

Reigning WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford is facing some legal troubles, following an incident that took place at an auto shop in Omaha, Nebraska last April 14th.

According to a report by Boxingscene, "Bud" was at the Extreme Custom Fleet and Auto Spa at the time of the incident, where he demanded for his 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo to be released. The shop's ower Michael Nelson refused for the vehicle to be released, since it was still on the lift, and Crawford has yet to pay for the paint job he had done, which cost $1,350.

Nelson then told police officers that Crawford himself lowered the vehicle from the lift, while his three companions cleared the car's pathway from some of the car parts that were still lying around on the ground.

When the vehicle was fully lowered on the ground, Crawford and his companions tied a rope to the car and pulled it away. It did not take long before Crawford was brought to police custody after the incident.

According to another Boxingscene report, the boxer turned himself in on Friday, and is facing four misdemeanor counts of theft of services, third-degree assault, criminal mischief, and trespassing.

Crawford holds an undefeated record of 28-0, with 20 victories by knockout.

Meanwhile, former lineal middleweight champion Andre Ward is not a fan of Kazakh boxing sensation Gennady Golovkin. "GGG" is coming off his 35th victory (32 by knockout), and has kept his record unblemished by stopping Dominic Wade within two rounds.

Yet, despite his accolades, Ward says he is not so much a fan of the 34-year old knockout artist. Speaking to On The Ropes Boxing radio, Ward noted about the brief history between him and Golovkin, and how their names were usually matched up against each other.

But as far as his dislike for "GGG", Ward says it's nothing personal.

"I'm not a fan of Golovkin," Ward said. "I'm not really biting my nails waiting until he fights again. No disrespect, but that's just the reality."
