Bradley Cooper has openly admitted in a recent interview that at 38-year-old, he still lives with his mother.
In a rare glimpse into his personal life, the actor explained the living situation, revealing that the loss of his father had devastated his family.
"The best way I can answer that is to say we're surviving. Both of us," said Cooper of he and his mother, Gloria, while speaking to Details magazine.
"The Place Beyond the Pines" star continued to explain the situation as simply being life and endearingly exposed the details of his family life.
"Let's face it: It's probably not easy for her, by the way, to be living with her son. It's life," said Cooper. "And right now, two years after my father's death, this is where we are. My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are."
Furthermore, Cooper stated that living with his mother includes a few "complications."
"It's not like I live in compound and she's in the guesthouse, no, she's in the next room," the Philadelphia native clarified. "But here's the thing; she's a cool chick, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way."
In another display of admiration for his mother, Cooper brought Gloria with him to the Oscar Awards earlier this year where they posed together on the red carpet.
As for having children of his own one day, last year's "Sexiest Man Alive" said he has high hopes for a family.
"Of course I have [thought about it,]" Cooper shared, according to Details. "I really hope I have that experience in my life. I saw how much joy fatherhood gave my own dad. So I hope it's part of my journey. You go through stages in your life, and fatherhood seems like a natural stage."
Oscar nominated for his role in "Silver Linings Playbook," Cooper's other recent project, "Place Beyond the Pines," was released last month. The film sees co-stars Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes.
Looking ahead, Cooper will appear in upcoming films such as "The Hangover Part III," "Serena," and "Jane Got a Gun."
