Bradley Cooper has revealed an interest in playing the role of the recently disgraced Lance Armstrong in a possible a biopic.

Paramount Pictures has suggested plans of making a biopic revolving around the life of bicyclist Lance Armstrong. Armstrong admitted last week on Oprah that he had used performance-enhancing drugs during his 1999-2005 reign of winning the Tour de France. If the film occurs, Bradley Cooper has stated that it is a role he would be interested in playing.

Armstrong had faced allegation of doping for most of his career. Even after passing 600 different doping tests, a federal investigation was launched in 2011 leading to the renouncement of all titles the cyclist had earned since 1998.

Reporter Juliet Macur has compiled information about Armstrong to write the book "Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong." Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams' production company Bad Robot purchased the rights of the book and now Cooper would like to steal the star role.

"I remember thinking, that would be a great character, I'd love to play that character," Cooper told the BBC. "I would love to do something, I think he's pretty fascinating."

Fans said that they had other actors in mind including Edward Norton and Gordon Levitt.

"Really I was thinking Ed Norton," one user wrote on the Yahoo blog. "He's the only Hollywood actor I can think of that is [scrawny] enough. Looks like he could be a gelding too."

"I would like to see Joseph Gordon Levitt as Armstrong, he looked like him in Premium Rush," another user said.

But no one has more experience for the role than Charlie Sheen, another user argued.

"Why not get Charlie Sheen? Doing drugs, lying, and cheating are all so natural for him that he would have no problem playing Lance Armstrong," the user wrote.
