'Braxton Family Values' season 5 news, cast, spoilers: Denied proposal permission and criticisms on Trina's cooking
The latest episode of "Braxton Family Values" season 5 definitely had the spotlight on Trina. Viewers saw how Trina was criticized by her sisters for her cooking skills in a never-before-seen clip, which of course Trina did not appreciate. Fans also witnessed Jacent's meeting with Papa Braxton that did not go as smoothly as planned.
On the last episode, Trina receives some cold harsh truth. According to Enstarz, the five famous Braxton sisters, Trina, Tamar, Towanda, Toni, and Traci get together to have a friendly cooking competition. Trina is partnered with their mother because, as Tamar tells her, "you need help the most." Trina doesn't take this lightly, as she doesn't appreciate the condescending tone of her sisters who are self-proclaimed "scholars" or kitchen experts. Trina retorts by saying, "I can cook! You's a lie. I don't receive that. I don't accept it. Y'all are gonna talk about me behind my back. You're not gonna talk about it to my face like this." Tamar then speaks up a bit more, saying, "You can't cook boo." Trina retaliates by saying, "My children are well nourished," implying that she's done okay, so far.
One of last episode's highlights is when Jacent meets Papa Braxton at a restaurant, as Jacent seeks his blessing for Trina's hand. He goes, "This is the thing here. I'm very respectable, and I wanted to come to you, as a man... I want your blessing." Papa Braxton is less than pleased with this proposal as he is worried about Trina being vulnerable now, and that Jacent might be taking advantage of her. The worry on Trina is also evident on Tamar as she feels what Jacent's plans are; however, Evelyn assures that Trina is just starting to cope every day, especially after her divorce was just recently finalized.
