Bridges: Classical Hymns, Modern Worship

Waterfront Record's Bridges: Classical Hymns, Modern Worship combines classic hymns and modern worship into one explosive album. Taking the profound depth and meaning found in the lyrics of classic hymns and combining them with the emotion and energy of modern music, the most cherished songs of the Christian faith are delivered in a way that is truly awesome.

The album features classics such as, Fairest Lord Jesus, It Is Well With My Soul, Come Thou Fount and Doxology performed by artists such as Paul Colman, Marc Byrd, Todd Agnew, Jill Paquette and Ginny Owens. 2005 GRAMMY-nominated TAIT frontman, Michael Tait, has recently completed his recording of the classic hymn, "How Great Thou Art," for the album which is set to be released on February 1.

Tait enthusiastically proclaims that 'How Great Thou Art' is one of his favorites. He goes on to say that nothing stirs his heart more than the classic hymns of our faith. "I've sung this song all my life, but this new arrangement will make these classic lyrics exciting to a new generation," says Tait.

Bridge's executive producer, Marc Byrd (God of Wonders, City On A Hill), says, "I am truly blown away by the way 'How Great Thou Art' sounds. Tait's voice fits perfectly in with the song and I walked away blessed and moved by the whole experience."

"Responding to a need voiced by church music ministers and worship leaders for music that bridges the foundational theology of our greatest hymns with a modern musical approach, we put together some of today's most popular modern worship artists to create a new resource for the church," states Hugh Robertson, founder of Waterfront Records.

"Bridges masterfully makes that connection by taking the most loved hymns of faith and giving them a new voice by using the sounds of today's worship. Featuring the vocals of artists and worship leaders, these classic hymns will resonate with listeners as they are drawn to the throne of Grace by crossing the bridge that connects the comfort of the past with the passion of today," adds Promotions Director Linda Meyers.
