Neither of these teams looked like legitimate Playoff contenders earlier in the season. Both got off to very mediocre starts to the season and looked like they would underachieve this year.

However, both teams experienced surges at the right times and they now both find themselves drawn against one another in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

This match up is a difficult one to call, and throughout the regular season after the teams played each other four times, things were split evenly at two games a piece.

But coming into the Playoffs it is the Raptors who may be the slight favorites as they have hit some amazing form, winning nine of their last 12 games. They will be confident that if they can stay in the same vein of form then they have what it takes to win today's game against the Nets and gain the advantage in the series.

The Nets meanwhile have lost four of their last five, which may be concerning, however, looking a little closer some analysts have claimed that the Nets may have intentionally eased off at the end of the season to ensure they suffered no unnecessary injuries, and also to give up the fifth seed spot for sixth.
