Bruno Mars, the singer-songwriter, recently defendad rap mogul Kanye West and his recent rants that have gone public.
West, 35, recently performed at shows in France and the United Kingdom, where he ranted about his issues with other celebrities like singers Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake. He also called New York City radio station Hot 97 to vent about his positioning on MTV's "Hottest MCs in the Game" list- he was no. 7, which he felt was too low.
Mars, 27, is a fan of West's, though, and recently spoke about the rapper having the right to express his opinion.
"I don't think you can be mad at a guy that speaks his opinion – whether you disagree with it or not," Mars told Capital FM radio station in the U.K. recently.
The singer talked about West having courage for expressing his opinions without trying to be politically correct for the sake of album sales.
"It's hard being in the spotlight, you're doing interviews and shows, and you want to just be politically correct so people like you and buy your albums," Mars told Capital FM. "It takes a lot for someone to be honest in these kind of situations."
Since West is known for being vocal about his thoughts publicly, he said the rapper's rants should not come as a surprise to anybody.
"That is what Kanye West is," Mars told Capital FM. "He is going to speak his mind, you might not agree with everything that he says, but you know what the guy's telling it like it is in his mind. You can't be mad at that."
The 35-year-old rapper ranted in Amsterdam recently and spoke about his issues with corporate brands during a performance. West also performed in France and the United Kingdom and ranted about fellow music artists.
"Taylor Swift beat Beyonce at the Grammys? Beyonce be dancing in heels and (expletive)," the rapper said at one appearance that was recorded and uploaded to YouTube.
In another rant at London's Hammersmith Apollo earlier this month, West spoke about his feelings concerning the Grammy Awards and Timberlake's latest music.
