A burglar has called 911 himself after the owner of the home he broken into caught him and pulled a gun on him.

The incident happened as the alleged burglar was in his pickup truck in the residence's driveway. The owner, James Gerow, and his son fetched their guns and pointed them at him as he sat in his truck.

Obviously terrified the suspected burglar, Christopher Moore, did not try to escape the residence in Springtown, Texas but dialed 911 instead.

During a 10 minute call to the emergency services operator Moore explained, "I'm out in the country somewhere. Some guy's got a gun on me."

He was not the only one calling 911 at that time, and the homeowner's wife also called the emergency number. Gerow's wife, Lindy, called at the same time pleading for officers to come quick as she feared her husband would shoot the burglar.

She said, "You better come quick or my husband's going to shoot him."

According to the Dallas Morning News Crime Blog, James Gerow said, "If he gets out of the truck, shoot him in the legs. You ain't gotta kill him-just shoot him in the legs."

The operator dispatched police officers to the residence immediately and when police arrived both the suspect and the wife were still on the phones speaking to the 911 dispatchers.

Moore has since been arrested and charged with burglary, according to CBS' Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate, and is being held on a $35,000 bond.
