Busy Philipps announced her second pregnancy in December, but the actress has just now revealed the gender of the baby.
While attending the premiere of her movie "A Case of You" at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Tuesday, the "Cougar Town" star announced that she and her husband Marc Silverstein are expecting another baby girl.
"I haven't said what I'm having yet, I just realized," Philipps told reporters of her unborn child while on the red carpet, according to the Huffington Post. "We've known for a long time now, I just haven't had any reason to say it, but we're having another girl."
Philipps and her screenwriter husband have been married since 2007 and are already parents to 4-year-old daughter Birdie Leigh.
"We're really excited," the actress added, noting her eldest child's glee.
"My daughter is super excited," Philipps said. "She's actually incredibly helpful and she's four and a half, so she's really understanding things, when I say like, 'Mom can't carry you right now because the baby in her tummy is pressing down on her bladder!' She understands what that means and she's cool with it."
As for how her second pregnancy is making her feel, Philipps said it is "worlds apart" from her first, and even deemed it "gross."
"My first pregnancy was sort of easy and carefree and I thought that this one was going to be the same thing," explained the 33-year-old. "But I'm making it through. I lost my voice because I have acid reflux, I mean it's disgusting! Your body is just hijacked, it's gross."
When Philipps first announced baby no. 2 on Twitter, the actress incorporated humor and added a photo of her positive pregnancy test.
"So this happened," wrote the actress last December, adding a pic of a ClearBlue pregnancy test that read "Pregnant."
After fans reacted, Phillipps later added, "Thanks for all the sweet words and warm wishes today! It's been really nice to read them! Birdie is, indeed, super excited to be a big sis."
The Hollywood starlet joins many other celebrities expecting babies this year, including Jessica Simpson, Halle Berry, Kim Kardashian, and British royalty's the Duchess of Cambridge.
The Illinois native is also well known for appearing on the television series "Freaks and Geeks" as well as "Dawson's Creek." Philipps' film credits include "The Smokers," "White Chicks," and "He's Just Not That Into You," among others.
