'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' News: New 'Black Market' Update Now Available

The first-person shooter "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" has gotten a new "Black Market" update which brings with it three new guns, two new melee weapons and 18 specialist themes, among others, according to a report in IGN. The update is now available for the following platforms: PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The update was also announced through a video trailer which mainly showed what guns and weapons are on offer and what players can do with these new weapons if they decide to get and use them.

The new guns that come with the update include the MX Garand Assault Rifle, which according to the narrator in the trailer has "vintage" looks but is also equipped with "a few modern upgrades." The second weapon featured is the Shadow Claw Crossbow which is described in the trailer as a "semi-automatic" crossbow which is quiet and "very deadly." Lastly, there is the Marshal 18 Shotgun-Pistol which is good for shooting up close, as the trailer says, it is "like a warm hug."

In terms of melee weapons, the update brings with it two new ones. The first one is called Iron Jim, which is described as "lethal brute force" melee weapon that can take down enemies with one single blunt strike. Fury's Song is the second melee weapon, which is essentially a sword which, when wielded, will take out the full-life of an enemy in one slash.

New gear sets for specific specialists are also available with the update. Another report in CharlieINTEL lists down all the gear sets available starting with Geist which is available for all nine specialists in the game, and nine other gear sets specific for a specialist.

The Black Market can be accessed through the loading screen, where the player must select "multiplayer" and then select "public match." Players can then select from the Black Market what they want. But according to the IGN report, players should also be "ready to trade" with the market's mysterious vendor who, as shown in the trailer, does not have time for small talk.

The game was released on November 6, 2015 and has enjoyed commercial success since its release.
