Call of Duty Ghosts 6GB RAM Requirement Lowered to 4GB After More Development

Call of Duty: Ghosts PC now only requires 4 GB RAM instead of 6 after more time to develop game.

The initial requirement was changed, according to Polygon, and released last night by Infinity Ward as part of a 400 MB update for Windows PC.

The patch reportedly also are for fixes menu stuttering and eSports rules for Broadcaster Mode.

Call of Duty: Ghosts received the PS4 day one patch that brought the campaign mode from 720p to 1080p. The game's producer, Activision, made that announcement that only retail versions of the game will have campaign mode in 720p.

This information sort of goes against what developer Infinity Ward said last month when Ghosts was announced to run 1080p on the PS4 and 720p on Xbox One. It is true that Ghosts will run on 1080p, but not until after downloading the patch, so it is a bit deceiving.

An Activision spokesperson told Polygon that the 720p was a mistake caused by a "configuration error" in the retail version.

"This has been addressed with a day-one software update. People will be able to download the day-one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p," the representative said.

The Xbox One admission of the 720p was made by Mark Rubin of Infinity Ward.

"Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven't had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we're 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we're native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can't wait for next week's launch," he tweeted.

The game was released for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U on Nov. 5, and arrived with the PS4 on Nov. 15 and will come with the Xbox One on Nov. 22.
