Nothing can get stranger than a candy corn Oreos right? The new sweet treats debuted Monday at Target stores nationwide to much critical review.

The new candy corn Oreos have become something of an internet frenzy. Some say the idea is just plain disgusting, while others are eager to try it. But either way, the Kraft-owned company is certainly getting its fair share of free publicity. Gross or not, the likelihood that they are a must try. Some have been making crazy Halloween treats with them since they have been released.

Candy corn is an obvious Halloween staple and no fall season can officially start without them. After all, Oreo's newest creation may just make a perfect party treat. Try this recipe:

Candy Cats

12 Candy Corn Oreo Cookies
1 pkg. (6 squares) BAKER'S Dark Chocolate, melted
1 tsp. canola oil
1 pkg. candy corns
Halloween colored sprinkles
Popsicle sticks
Ribbon (optional)

Directions

INSERT wooden pop stick into filling in center of each cookie; place on waxed paper-covered rimmed baking sheet. Freeze 10 min.

MIX melted chocolate and oil until blended. Dip cookies, 1 at a time, in chocolate mixture, turning to evenly coat both sides of each. Return to baking sheet. Use candy corns to make two ears and sprinkles to make face and whiskers (Twizzlers can also be used for whiskers).

The recipe is pretty basic and the decoration is up to you! White chocolate can also be used in place of the dark chocolate, for anyone who feels superstitious about those spooky black kitties.

Still not convinced about the candy corn Oreo? Well in all fairness, Halloween is all about eating a mix of junk food right? It doesn't get more junk food-esque than this. You can also save the leftovers for Thanksgiving and make oreo turkeys.
