Capcom Confirms Second Wave of DLC Fighters for 'Street Fighter 5' (VIDEO)

Capcom is reportedly releasing a second wave of new characters for its "Street Fighter V" upcoming DLC that's scheduled for next year.

With "Street Fighter V" nearing its Q1 2016 release, Capcom is said to be looking into a second batch of new fighters for new downloadable content planned for after the fighting video game's official launch next year.

The first wave of DLC fighters for the fifth main entry in the "Street Fighter" franchise still remains a mystery, however, and with news emerging a second wave will form a part of the Japanese developer's long-term plans, players will have more to look forward to even before "Street Fighter V" becomes available to the public.

According to a Gamespot interview with Matt Dahlgren, the game's brand director, all content upgrades and balance adjustments are expected to be free to all players during the game's entire lifespan. Even with Capcom having gained the reputation of continuously re-packaging its titles and releasing upgraded versions of previous games, players can rest assured they wouldn't need to purchase an upgrade pack.

Capcom is reportedly planning on releasing a new fighter character approximately every two months, equivalent to six new DLC characters each year.

Despite the alleged leak featuring what is believed to be the first wave of DLC fighters, including Alex and Urien, that was spotted from information about the PC version, Capcom has yet to confirm that it is indeed the final list for the "Street Fighter V" roster.

With rumors the final list will be leveling the playing field for the upcoming game, Dahlgren has announced there will be a total of 16 launch characters, and six additional characters for the first wave of DLC fighters, giving players a total of 22 characters in all.

With the addition of another six for the second wave of DLC characters, "Street Fighter V," which is expected to launch for PC and PlayStation 4 on February 16, 2016, will feature 28 characters to enjoy for next year.
