'Captain America 3' News, Update: Martin Freeman Teases Details About His Character in 'Civil War'

Perhaps almost all of the roles of every involved cast in Marvel's upcoming film "Captain America: Civil War," are already known with the exception of Martin Freeman's character.

Ever since he was cast for the MCU film, there have been no official announcements as to what kind of character he will be playing, but thankfully, the "Sherlock" star is starting to loosen up.

The 43-year-old English actor spoke with the Italian website, BadTaste.it, during the Giffoni Film Festival 2015. The media outlet asked the "Fargo" star, right off the bat, about his part in the film.

"He works for the American government, he works in conjunction with the superheroes, and with certain agencies that help to … tame the superheroes' powers," Freeman said.

"You're not quite sure which side he's on. It looks a little bit like he's playing one game when actually he's playing another. It's the kind of character I like because it's ambiguous and because you don't know whether he's good or bad. I like that area that isn't black or white; I like the grays," he continued.

Cinema Blend speculated that Freeman could be referring to Henry Peter Gyrich, "a character first introduced to Marvel Comics in 1977 as a special government liaison to the Avengers."

In addition to Freeman, "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to feature actors Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany and Emily VanCamp and others alongside headliners Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. as Steve Rogers/Captain America and Tony Stark/Iron-Man, respectively.

The movie hits the theaters May 6, 2016.
