'Captain America 3' Release Date, Spoilers: Spider-Man Crossover a Possibility for Third Movie?

Reported to take place after the events of "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," reports indicate that the third installment of "Captain America 3" will feature the web-slinging, friendly neighborhood hero from New York.

In a report by KPopstarz, they cited "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" directors Joe and Anthony Russo talking with Cinema Blend who hinted that anything could happen for the upcoming movie.

"Listen, when I started collecting, The Secret Wars was one of the first books I ever bought, so that's always been an obsession of mine to see something of that scale done -- a crossover. I don't know if that would ever be possible, with all the different situations at the studios. But I would love to see a lot of characters on screen together," Joe explained.

The statement take on a lot of speculations including hopes that this crossover of the Marvel Universe characters will happen. Unfortunately, as IBTimes indicated, that might not happen due to some business reasons.

In "The Secret Wars," almost every major hero in the Marvel universe is featured, including Steve Rogers and Peter Parker and their respective alter egos. The group was transported to a distant planet where they fight off a handful of villains in a fictional setting.

The reason that such storyline is unlikely was aptly given by Russo himself.

"I don't know if that would ever be possible, with all the different situations at the studios. But I would love to see a lot of characters on screen together," he said.

A number of Marvel characters are spread out across various Hollywood studios with Spider-Man under Sony, Fantastic Four and X-men belonging to Fox, while Marvel claimed screen proprietorship of the Avengers.

Nonetheless, if these studios talk and were ever to make a deal, fans could finall get the crossover they've been hoping for.
