'Captain America: Civil War' Cast News, Update: Samuel L. Jackson Says Nick Fury Won't Appear

Despite his essential part in the development of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury is reported to be excluded in the upcoming Marvel film "Captain America: Civil War."

Collider's interview with the actor who said that the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. will not be getting involved in the forthcoming dispute between Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron-Man and Chris Evans' Captain America. The news came quite a shock not only on his part but also on the fans.

"It's really great to be the connective tissue between so many different characters in so many different films, that brings those guys together. But I'm not in Captain America 3. I can't figure that out, but I'm not. I guess I'm still out there, trying to figure out what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. and who these other people are," the 66-year-old "Big Game" star explained.

In a conversation, this time with IGN, the "Pulp Fiction" actor revealed that he was actually informed about his involvement by the "Cap 3" helmers.

"I was surprised I wasn't in Civil War, because the Russo Brothers told me I was," he said. "I don't know what's going on."

Regardless of the reason, Jackson still has two remaining movies left in his contract with Marvel. As to what it will be, he isn't sure.

Screen Rant meanwhile dropped their speculation on the story saying that Fury could be off in the upcoming title as he would be out there "discovering new heroes" like Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, as well as managing the Inhumans, all of which entities are integral in the development of the Fourth Phase of MCU.

"Captain America: Civil War" is slated to fly into theaters on May 6, 2016.
