'Captain America: Civil War' Release Date Revealed

"Captain America: Civil War" is only a few months away from its release date and fans are already excited to see the movie.

Since "Captain America: Civil War's" lineup consists of almost all the biggest superheroes and supporting characters from Marvel Cinematic Universe, some fans have dubbed the film as "Avengers 2.5." The trailer for the upcoming movie will be shown in December and the film itself will be released on May 6, 2016, Movie Pilot reports.

The first trailer of "Captain America: Civil War" will come out with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which will premiere in theaters on Dec. 17. This makes sense because the two films will both be released by Disney, so producers want their biggest 2016 movie to be revealed when their biggest 2015 movie comes out, according to sources of Collider report cited by Yahoo! News.

Although the trailer release of "Captain America: Civil War" has not yet been officially announced, Collider said the recent Twitter posts of the directors Joe and Anthony Russo suggest that the trailer of "Captain America 3" will be released with the next "Star Wars" movie.

In one tweet that went up on Oct. 26, a photo which appears to be the close-up of a "Star Wars" poster is posted alongside stars that seem to be from "Captain America." However, the legitimacy of the Twitter account has not yet been confirmed, the report relays.

Meanwhile, there are reports saying a character called General Vasily Karpov will make his first appearance in Civil War. The minor character, played by Gene Farber, is a Russian Soviet officer who will help Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Bucky Barnes destroy a Red Skull base during the World War II.

Karpov will be instrumental in Bucky's transformation as the Winter Soldier and Captain America's frozen state, which lasted for many years. He is actually out for revenge against Captain America.

More details about General Vasily Karpov will be revealed when "Captain America: Civil War" is released on May 6, 2016.
