Carmelo and La La Anthony Divorce Update: NBA Star Hopes Move to Oklahoma Will Help Fix Their Marriage

Carmelo Anthony is still hoping for a reconciliation with estranged wife La La Anthony.

As previously confirmed, Carmelo is leaving New York to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Although he will now be living far away from La La, the National Basketball Association (NBA) star believes his big move will bring them closer than ever.

"He's hoping that he and La La can use it as a fresh start," a source close to La La told Hollywood Life. Since Carmelo is determined to rekindle his relationship with La La, the 33-year-old wants to use his time away to reflect on his life and be a better husband for his spouse.

The insider described Carmelo's move as the "perfect remedy, and a way to draw a line under their issues once and for all."

Carmelo recently caught up with ESPN and he revealed that he was reinvigorated by the change in scenery. He also admitted that the trade made him feel a different man, noting how he is happy to have a different energy around him.

"My motivation is just different now," he said. "I kind of lost that motivation a little bit in New York. But I was still able to go out there and play and get through it ... From an individual standpoint I feel born again, feel rebirth, a different type of energy within myself, around the guys, around the organization, around the city. You can feel it."

Following their split, La La appears to be doing good as well. The mother of one launched a size-inclusive denim line in collaboration with luxury department store Lord & Taylor earlier this month. Carmelo, along with their son Kiyan, was spotted heading to the event in Midtown to show support for La La.
