Casey Anthony: Court Protects Anthony's Secret Location

Video of Anthony Sealed By Judge

On Tuesday, Judge Lisa Munyon sealed a video of Casey Anthony answering questions concerning her current defamation trial for fear the footage would reveal Anthony’s undisclosed location.

Anthony answered questions concerning the defamation trial of Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez through a video link last month from a secret location in Florida, wearing large sunglasses, a wig, and a baseball cap.

During the questioning, Anthony employed her Fifth Amendment rights a whopping 60 times, protecting herself from self-incrimination. As advised by her lawyer, Charles Green, Anthony avoided all questions pertaining to the disappearance and death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

“This is not a case about whether Casey had anything to do with the death of Caylee or whether she's a good person or bad person,” said Green to ABC News.

Anthony became a national news sensation during her three-year court trial, where she was accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony in 2008.

She was found “not guilty” in July 2011, sending a shock wave of surprise through the American public.

She is currently in a court case concerning the defamation of Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, also known as "Zanny the Nanny," a woman whom Anthony claimed abducted Caylee. After clinging to the lie for three years, Anthony's lawyer told the court the nanny never existed.

Fernandez-Gonzalez is suing Anthony for defamation, claiming that because of Anthony’s lies, her reputation is ruined. She claims to have received death threats, lost her job, and been kicked out of her apartment due to the defamation.

Regarding the defamation case, Green told ABC: “[The case is] about whether Zenaida is the one Casey was referring to. Even if she is, was this woman who went on countless TV shows and inserted herself in the public eye damaged?"

Fernandez-Gonzalez argued that she has never met Anthony. According to the Daily Mail, John Morgan, lawyer of Fernandez-Gonzalez, claimed that Anthony learned of the victim’s existence when both parties visited a Florida apartment complex on the same day.

Allegedly, both Anthony and Fernandez-Gonzalez filled out information cards supplied Anthony with the victim’s personal information, which she would later provide police.

The defamation case is not the end of Anthony’s legal woes. The media court sensation is currently serving probation for an unrelated check fraud case. In 2010, she was found guilty of six counts of check fraud after she used her friend’s checkbook to buy $400 worth of clothing and groceries.

“[Casey Anthony] answered all questions from her probation officer and continues to be compliant,” said a monthly Anthony report released by the Florida Department of Corrections.

On yet another legal tangent, on Oct. 25, the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida released the names of the 12 jurors who found Casey Anthony not guilty in the murder trial of Caylee.

The 25-year-old remains in hiding at an undisclosed location in Florida. Casey Anthony has yet to address the public in an interview.

After her murder trial, which attracted a huge public following, Ledger magazine described Anthony as “The Most Hated Person in America.”
