Casting Crowns’ Newest Single Tops Charts

Band Now Six for Six

Grammy Award-winning pop rock group Casting Crowns moved into the number one position on three radio charts last week, making it their sixth straight No. 1 single.

The new hit, “Does Anybody Hear Her,” is top ranked on the R&R’s Christian AC Monitored, Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs, and R&R’s AC Indicator chart. This is the third number one song from their latest album release, Lifesong.

Since their self-titled debut album in 2003, Casting Crowns has released six singles, each of them rising to the top of the music charts. As of now, the band has a perfect track record.

Over the three years that the band has been performing, Casting Crowns has become the most played artist on all Christian radio formats combined.

Their sophomore album, Lifesong, went Gold according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and reached the No. 9 position on the Billboard 200 album chart.

The band was also named Group of the Year for the second consecutive year at the 37th Annual Gospel Music Awards.

The other five top songs include “If We Are the Body,” “Who Am I,” “Lifesong,” “Praise You in this Storm,” and “Voice of Truth,” the last resting at the No. 1 spot for a record-breaking 13 weeks.

The band was discovered by, among others, renowned artist Steven Curtis Chapman.
